Today I want to share some very special projects from our design team. I love how the Ladies keep coming up with ingenious ways to use our chipboard on their projects.
First up is the super talented Louise Nelson. Louise is one of our in house designers and has done some fantastic chipboard designs for us. She sent me this journal cover using one of her chipboard feathers designs. I love the soft colours and the look of her journal. By using lace and netting, Louise has cleverly managed to blend old fashion charm with quite a modern gungy look.
Here is what Louise had to say about the creative process behind her lovely journal cover.
"I began with sealing the from and back outside and inside covers with gesso. I then then stitched on squares of calico, strips of lace, and a cut up vintage doilie to the front and back covers.

The Imaginarium Designs feathers were attached using storm clear drying glue. I then overlaid a large piece of tulle, which was then all stitched onto the cover along with a sewing machine. To add visual dimension I pleated the tulle and oversewed the folds. Once this was completed I then painted the entire from and back covers with gesso. When this was dry I added colour with the Tattered Angels Chalkboard Glimmer mist; Inchworm and Polka Dot Pink. I have used a jewelled brad with string as a tie around.
I just look the attention to detail and the layering Louise has achieved with her journal cover. It is so pretty and delicate and would be a lovely journal to record special memories all year

For the butterfly: Gloria has inked the butterfly with Watermark ink, and embossed it with star dust embossing powder. Heated it again and apply clear embossing powder over the top, melt. The clear embossing powder "seals" the sparkle on the star dust powder.

For the Steampunk Clock: : Gloria has inked with Watermark ink and apply several layers of malachite embossing powder. Heated it again and sprinkle various areas with arctic black aurora embossing powder. Heated it again to melt the powders.

"Embellishment: Ink with Watermark ink and apply several layers of arctic black aurora embossing powder. Repeat the layers until you have the finish you like. I created a smooth, high gloss finish for my embellishment."
Look at the way Gloria layers all her bits and pieces together. She is a master at making cards and tags. Who would not like to receive a beautiful tag like this.

To finish up, I have a canvas from Nadia. Nadia makes the most beautiful projects for us. I love her attention to detail and the way she layers her embellishments. Nadia has called her canvas "Wishing you Happiness".

Tips for using the chipboard: apply gesso, then dab light coloured ink and with your fingers run a darker paint in random places on the chipboard. Finish with a coat of Glossy Accents.
Nadia has done an amazing job of her canvas, I love the background she has done on her canvas as a foundation before layering everything on it. Nadia has a real flair for this and her work is always beautiful and perfectly done.
