Guest Designer ...

I have another gorgeous page from our Guest Designer today .... Kerry-Jean Watson.

"I just love the frames that Imaginarium Design's make.
I chose the rather beautiful Moroccan Border to compliment this holiday picture of my grandparents which was more than likely taken in the early 1930s. Unfortunately I don't know much about the holiday destination or the event but they look happy none the less.

The back ground paper  was just inked on the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Vintage Photo Distress ink and then I distressed the edges with the Prima Distress tool, I even went as far as to sand down the edges creating a real weathered look. For something different for me I didn't flatten the papers behind the frames, and made sure to crinkle the edges a bit more after distressing them.

The Imaginarium Design frames I painted black and the added some turquoise paint and gold embossing powder. After doing all this I realised I had lost all the detail of the frames and the layout was looking a little too heavy. Rather than starting all over, I took a punt and covered them with Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint and WOW what a difference. The best part was that the paint has flaked off where the embossing was put on the frames which has created this gorgeous old shabby chic look. Once I got the frames all sorted out the rest of the layout all come together really well.

I got to a point with just the frame the picture and the general layout and just felt it needed something else. The flowers just pulled everything in together and subtly finished it all off."
