Make Mine Sweet!

Welcome everyone! I have three layouts to share with you today,
and they are all filled with sweetness and colour.

"SISTER GERMS"

Just recently, my youngest daughters has started refusing to accept kisses from her older sister. Sometimes she makes a game of it (like in the photo above), and other times she is quite adamant about not accepting the kisses. And believe me, this has caused many an argument, and hurt feelings. But at the same time, it reminds me they are growing up fast, and becoming their own person. Hopefully, they will be able to look back on this in the future and laugh.

With this layout, I wanted to create a circular visual flow across the layout, with the chipboard. I did this by using the same dark blue  ink on all the pieces, then coating them with Glossy Accents. Once they were dry, I adhered them to the layout where desired.

To create my flower centre, I simply cut the excess pieces from a Corner Circle. I then inked it blue, and coated it with Glossy Accents. Once dry, I adhered it to my page, and decorated the centres with blue rhinestones.

Other Products Used: Echo Park papers and stickers; Crafter's Workshop template; The Twinery twine; Pan Pastels; Hambly transparencies; Kindy Glitz; Helmar Liquid Glue Dots; Zva Creative rhinestones and foam dots; Prima Ingvilde Bolme inks; Stickles; Liquid Pearls; and a manilla coin envelope.

With my second layout, I wanted to experiment with washi tape and the Imaginarium Designs chipboard alphas. Yes, those alphas are wrapped in washi tape. It was a little bit fiddly,
but worth the effort for the end result.

"SO CUTE"

The chipboard cage was inked in gold, then decorated with clear rhinestones and a coat of Dimensional Magic. The chipboard butterflies were inked with browns and oranges, then the edges were highlighted with Kindy Glitz. I also bent the wings up a little, and added rhinestones to the centres, before adhering the butterflies to my page. Finally, the Embellishment 8 pieces were cut in half, inked black, then coated with clear embossing powder, and heat embossed. This created a beautiful black and shiny finish.

Here you can see how by gently bending the butterfly wings, they add more depth and dimension to the page (rather than just sitting flat).

To protect the alphas and prevent the washi tape from peeling off, I simply coated the alphas with Dimensional Magic.

Other Products Used: Crate papers; My Little Shoebox alpha stickers; Heidi Swapp mask; Tim Holtz distress ink; washi tape; Zva Creative rhinestones; The Twinery twine; Kindy Glitz; Helmar Liquid Glue Dots; Dimensional magic; and staples.

Finally, I'll leave you with a layout filled with colour!

"SMILE AND BE HAPPY"

With this layout, I wanted to create a whimsical feel to the page. The papers from October Afternoon, combined with the chipboard from Imaginarium Designs, created the perfect "happy, sweet, and whimsical" feel that I was after.

I created my background using texture paste, Glimmermist; Glimmer Glam; and Pan Pastels. Then I began by layering everything on top. Both the Anna Frame and picket fence were covered with Prima Ingvilde Bolme inks, then I coated them with Tim Holtz Distress Crackle (Rock Candy). This created a beautiful crackle finish on both the frame and picket fence.

The James border was inked with Prima Ingvilde Bolme inks. I then added Zva creative rhinestones; and finished with a coat of Glossy accents. The glossy finish of the James border contrasts nicely with the crackled finish of the picket fence. I love the contrasting textures!

Lots of details, lots of fussy cutting, and lots of layers. And so much fun in the making.

Other Products Used: October Afternoon papers and stickers; Pan Pastels; Glimmermist; Glimmer Glam; texture past; Crafter's Workshop template; Tim Holtz Distress Crackle; Zva Creative rhinestones and rhinestone flourishes; Fancy Pants mini alpha stickers; Prima Ingvilde Bolme inks; Glossy Accents; Helmar Liquid Glue Dots; Kindy Glitz; and Liquid Pearls.
