February Guest Designer..... and a Brand NEW Competition

Hello hello

I hope you all enjoyed our month of introductions of our amazing new 2012 Design Team.

This month we have a Guest Designer who is a fabulous Australian talent!

Meet Debbie Smith....

About me –

I live in Adelaide with my husband, three year old son and four year old daughter, and wake up to crazy every day! I love the photo-a-day project which I’ve been doing for two years, with both my Canon and my i-Phone, and jazzing up the photos in Photoshop Elements afterwards. I’ve been scrapbooking for four years, and love it more and more every day. I love the joy of creating and playing with new techniques, as well as the satisfaction of recording our story.
I love all things papercraft including stamping, cards, and homemade mini books. My pages incorporate lots of bright colours, textures, paint splatters and a little retro twist. I am not shy about upcycling found objects or raiding my kids’ craft stash. I love challenge blogs and I’m having an absolute ball as a member of Kraft It Up's Creative Team. I love kraft! And I love chipboard – inking it, stamping it, embossing it, painting it, even covering it with fabric and patterned papers. I’m really grateful to Imaginarium Designs for this opportunity to be a guest designer!

Thanks Debbie!
We sent Debbie a pile of Imaginarium Chipboard and this is what she created!

"I took an old children's picture book that was falling apart and nearly threw out. I knew it would be great for upcycling into a book for my son, Angus. The bundle of chipboard from Imaginarium was perfect for this project.
I used the clock for the front cover with the title "Time for..." to set the theme for the book. I embossed it and the title on the back page in black. Black embossing powder is my favourite thing at the moment! Because Angus has autism, I decided to keep the pages very simple so they followed the same template: bright colours on the left side, photo on the right. I painted the edges of the photos to make the colours in the photos 'pop'.
Lastly, I cut up a long piece of chipboard with repeating patterns into seven pieces, painted them in bright matching colours and added  one to each page like a bookmark.
I'm really pleased with the result and I can't wait to show Angus. He's very sensory and I know he's going to love it"

I think this is just amazing - the simplicity of the project for her son is perfect - it will be a true sensory experience.

Debbie used the following ID products for her project ....
