All things Bright and Beautiful

Today I have something quite different to share with you. The three projects I have chosen are all bright and beautiful. I have a canvas and two layouts to share with you. All three projects show how you can use bright colours on a project for a stunning effect. Each one is different but wonderfully done.
First is the canvas from Solange. Just look at all the layering and elements Solange has done to her canvas.

Solange used the back of the canvas to create a shadow box. She used some of the chipboard as a mask. She has used modeling paste to build up the edges around the canvas.

Solange used the oval as a mask and inked one of them black.

 IDS0016 Window with Lattice
Solange painted the window using Distress Crackle paint.
Solange used this boarder as a mask on the left side of her canvas. She applied modeling paste over the chipboard and remove them. This gave her a 3D effect to the boarder on the canvas as you can see in the photo above.

Solange has inked her fence black then added some modeling paste over the top.

I just love the crackle paint finish Solange has done on the chipboard.
Again Solange has created a wonderful project for us, the amount of detail show here is really lovely and very cleverly done.

Next up is a layout from Julianne, again it is bright and beautiful as always. Julianne's projects always have lots of elements layered onto her work.

Julianne has cleverly used the chipboard as a mask to great effect. She is what she had to say about her layout.
"To begin, I painted the 12x12 chipboard sheet with white Gesso. I then randomly placed the chipboard watch faces on the board. Once I was happy with their position, I decided on which ones would be filled with texture paste, and which ones would simply be used as stencils, with Glimmermist and Chalkboard Mist sprays. To fill them with texture paste, I held them securely, and added the paste into the gaps with a thick brush, pushing down gently. I smoothed out the tops just a little (I didn't want too many points sticking up), and allowed to dry for several minutes. Once they were semi-dry, I VERY carefully removed the chipboard clocks from the paste, by lifting them straight up. (I cleaned them gently, and as best I could, so that I could use them again on the layout, or as stencils again down the track). I then added some random sweeps of texture paste to the board, simply to add dimension and texture. Once everything was dry, I sprayed with Glimmermist and Chalkboard mist, making sure the clock faces being used as stencils were still in place. After several minutes of drying, I removed the clocks I used as stencils, and allowed the whole sheet to dry thoroughly.

You can see the masking effect in the above photo.

Again here is a lovely layout from Carole. It is bright and beautiful as well. Carole has cleverly made peep holes in her layout and made little shadow boxes which she has filled with buttons.

This layout is simple but cleverly made and I love the shadow box effect.
IDS0008 8 Butterflies on a Board

Carole has painted her chipboard butterflies and added them to her layout with foam tape.

She has used bright colours and on this one perfect pearls.

This one has textured paste and rhinestones. Don't you love the photo!

As I said at the start of today's post, all three layouts are bright and beautiful and so different from each other.
Enjoy looking.
