Guest Designer ... Kerry-Jean Watson

Hello there

Today I'm introducing the first of our Guest Designers for ID!

Kerry-Jean is from sunny South Australia and lives close to our home base in Adelaide.

Here is what Kerry-Jean had to say ...

"I am very privileged to have this opportunity to get a Guest Designer spot for this month.

As my older brother and only sibling has come over to visit me here in Adelaide I thought it would be appropriate to use some of Imaginarium Designs wonderful word chipboard. I have not seen my brother in 3 years and have no recent photos of him, this presented a problem for my extensive project I have been working on for about a year now. The Family Tree Memory Files! The Solution: My camera has been in use a lot over the last 2 weeks that Danial has been staying with me. Hopefully many layouts to come with him in the featured photograph.

I wanted to use the blues and orange tones in the photo and Imaginarium Designs have those awesome thistle flowers too, which when painted a burnt orange just worked so well in the layout.  The "My Brother" was of course perfect for the layout.

When I first  worked on the background it was a bit of a vast open space that needed some texture as it was a little too orange, this is where I used the Kaisercraft Bubble template which broke it up really nicely. And because the colours were a bit on the bright side I inked my edges with Distress Ink- Vintage photos to keep that rustic feel the corrugated cardboard and the old book page that I used in the paper stack behind the photo.

I really wanted those chipboard designs to stand out so I oped for bold and eye catching colors and those thistles as mentioned just look WONDERFUL in the burnt orange.

One lovely thing about Imaginarium Designs chipboard is it take paint VERY well, I simple sponged it on and you still get that detail and crisp definition of the embellishment."

Great layout Kerry-Jean.
